Violence Against Women In Different Lights Around The World

No matter how much ever the feminists shout their slogans aloud. No matter how many bras they burn to sell their propaganda of equal rights the so-called ‘Feminism’, eventually everything boils down to square one and their cry only seems to come from a far off distance where the men folk do not seem to exist. Hence, it falls on the dead ears. The societal stigma that is associated with the female identity is rather impossible to obliterate both in the Eastern and the Western societies.
The amount of civilization, money and education do not stand in any way to stop ‘violence against women.’ In fact, education, money and civilization do play a key role in heightening this social problem. This is so very true in the context of Indian society as in ‘Dowry System’ wherein women are tortured to bring in more dowries from her parents’ household. Many women have been burnt alive and murdered mercilessly by her in-laws and there is no stopping against this heinous crime. Many dowry cases go unreported for the fear of further torture and the ones that are reported lie virtually unsolved on the dead law.
Similarly, if you talk about the Chinese women, they are no less hapless victims of their rather domineering men. In the olden days, Chinese men tied the feet of their women with bundles of clothes in order to make their feet small. All this was because, apparently the Chinese men have a fetish towards small sized feet. This sounds rather scandalizing and hard to comprehend for somebody who is not well aware of the Chinese culture. Whatsoever it is, in my opinion, I feel that the Chinese men are totally selfish and unethical beyond their sadistic sexual taste. Just like the history repeats itself, violence against women comes in a different picture in the Chinese society. The modern Chinese women bear the brunt of domestic violence and they do not report to the law for the fear of their men.
The western women too are often plagued by the violence against them. Their fast life and the highly civilized society cannot stop their men from harassing them both at home and in public too. The violence against Hollywood and Academy Award winning actress Halle Berry will justify this. She was tortured by her ex beau so much so to an extent of leaving her deaf in one ear. Like her, many more women are harassed mercilessly in the western world as well.
The orthodox Middle East is not to be forgotten in this light. Their religion highly propagates the protection of their women which is why women wear burkhas religiously, covering their skin from head to toe. But does this stop their bestial men from raping them? It doesn’t scandalize me that Muslim women getting raped mercilessly in public and at home in this orthodox society because their men folk breathes hypocrisy in the name of their religion. Their women whom they ground within the four walls of their homes, whom they portray to protect diligently, are often harassed by them.
This proves that ‘violence against women’ is just not an issue that stagnates in one particular society but crosses every boundary of every place. The violence may not be of the same kind but for sure there is some kind of violence meted out against women. Who will save these hapless victims?

If only the world knew the peace that JESUS gave (and is giving), violence would have been wiped out. God is love and everything about Him is gentle and compassionate. JESUS’s peace is unlike the world. His peace is eternal. If everybody had tasted His love, it will only be gentleness and love that will flow.
